Google Calendar

Google Calendar is an on-line, web-based shared calendar. In conjunction with Google hosting of your email, you get this feature. It is free with the Standard Edition.  It enables you to share calendars with your co-workers and it will synchronize your calendar on your Smartphone. This feature will give you full access to your calendar and the calendar’s of you office right from your cell phone. All changes to your calendar get automatically updated from phone to web and back. Each shared calendar member is also color-coded to help distinguish between them.

Another great feature is the customizable reminder feature that enables you to send yourself a text message, email or pop-up to your computer at a pre-programmed time before the event. You can program as many reminders as you want and set them to occur at different moments.

When you create an event you can also invite your clients and others that are outside of your calendaring system. They will receive an email invitation and they can respond either via email or from within the Google Calendar. We find this feature especially useful when we schedule our technicians, our projects and our sales calls. It has made a dramatic improvement in customer communications. We schedule our visits on-line. We include an invitation to our clients. They confirm. And all of the smartphones get updated.

Additionally, everyone gets an agenda email every morning. Google Calendar is a great business tool. If you aren’t using a shared office calendar, this is the best tool for small business and it’s FREE!

And if you already have Microsoft Exchange, we can help you migrate to Google’s Apps.
